Spider in a Lacing Card Web Craft

Materials you will need:
Cardboard egg carton
Paint and paint brush
Yarn, laces or twine
Paper plate
Hole punch
Pipe cleaners
Googly eyes

How to make Spider in a Lacing Card Craft:

1. Cut one egg cup out of the egg carton and paint. Set aside to dry.
2. Punch holes around the paper plate.
3. Measure a length of yarn about 1.5 m long and use tape to create a needle at one end.
4. Thread the taped end of the yarn through the holes. You may need to use some helpful guidance to get at least some of the yarn across the plate with toddlers.
5. When all of the holes have been threaded at least once, tape both ends of the yarn to the back of the plate. The web is now complete.
6. Cut each of the pipe cleaners into half for the spider legs. Poke the pipe cleaner legs through the painted egg carton cup. We found it was easier to have some guide holes made with the end of some sharp scissors or a knife. Twist the end of the pipe cleaner around itself to secure to the body.
7. Use double sided tape or glue to adhere the googly eyes to your spider body.
8. Your spider can now be secured to the web by wrapping the pipe cleaners around the yarn.
